Britain:

   A Yen a Bob a Buck or a Pound:

In the UK, from the top of Politics to the bottom of the social structure, we are controlled by the ‘Cost of Living’.
As an expression, the term, ‘Cost of Living’ adequately portrays the ethos of British society, everything we do and think is governed by money, or more precisely, 'how much Profit can be made out of the public?

This fundamental ‘Profiteering’ motivation has become the ‘Deformed Backbone’ of British society, especially in the Government's dealings with the Public and Democracy.

£egislation for Profit: 
All laws and regulations are administered by Accountants with the objective of ‘Profitability’, long gone are the objectives of Service and Justice.
Even the supposed very bastion of family security; the ‘Englishman’s Home; his Castle’, has become a commodity in which we ‘wheel and deal’ in the ‘Property Market’.

Lamentably, it wasn’t always so; it all started with Muggit Thatcher’s introduction of ‘Monetarism’ and the ‘Property Market‘, which is now about to cause Britain so much trouble and strife.
Britain has become a nation of greedy ‘Shylocks’ all trying to cut out their neighbour’s hearts for that extra ‘pound of flesh’ or ‘Profit’.

Financial Disease:
This ‘Financial Disease’ is also affecting many other European nations especially since the introduction of the EEC. This is very evident in the National and European Parliaments introduction and ‘enforcement’ of ridiculous EEC laws and regulations, especially in the Food Industry, which favour the large Corporate Conglomerates and effectively puts the small producer out of business.

This systematic destruction of small local businesses and individual freedom of choice, could well be argued as a contravention of the European Human Rights Convention.

France

Liberty, Equality, Fraternity.

The French Public have a 'Democratic Freedom' that is independent of the French Government and not controlled by French Politics or Politicians.
French society enjoys a ‘Quality of Life’ as opposed to the ‘Cost of Living’ that governs British Society.

The fundamental difference and reason for this French Democracy and ‘Quality of Life’ is enshrined in the French ‘1901 Law: The Formation of Associations’ that the French Public use and enjoy to the maximum.

The 1901 law was probably originally some dastardly Marxist plot to enable the French people to overcome the French Government bureaucratic system and allow the devolution of an independent Democracy to the people.
The 1901 law is now the primary example & model for any new European or British Association, protected in law.

A  House or a Home?
In France a house is a 'Home', not a Commodity. 
A Home is the Heart, Body and Soul of the Family: 
Families are the basic building blocks and foundation of Society.
It could be argued that the reason for the many British social problems, especially regarding juvenile crime, is directly attributed to the many faceted problems created by the ‘Property Market’ and the subsequent deterioration of Society.
